Safety & Security

Sueños is located in one of the safest, most quiet parts of modern Mexico. The home is secured behind double-gated entry areas all within the private, gated and guarded community of La Punta. In turn, La Punta is located on the also-gated Santiago Peninsula. La Punta is a private land area where you may safely enjoy everything Sueños has to offer… including evening walks, early morning runs, lazy strolls to (and on!) the beach, etc.

Sueños has hosted guests from all over the world for the last 25 years without a single safety or security challenge.

Seasons

Manzanillo falls within the area known as the Mexican Riviera. As such our guests can anticipate 80F – 88F temperatures year-round with a little more humidity during the summer days, and cooler nights in the winter. There isn't a 'bad time' to be at Suenos - but generally the seasons look like this:

High Season: November, December, January, February, March

Mid Season: April, May, June, October

Low Season: July, August, September

Holidays: Christmas & New Year

Suenos is on a Saturday to Saturday schedule only.

Arrivals &
Departures

CHECKING IN: Our full time staff of 5 will happily receive you and your guests and assist you in making all detailed plans for your stay. Unless special arrangements are made in advance, arrival times can be no earlier than 3:00 PM on the Saturday of your arrival.

CHECKING OUT: All guests must be completely checked out, including luggage, by 12:00 Noon on the Saturday of your departure. The night before your departure, we will review your final account with you to determine the debit/credit amounts to be paid in/out before your departure.

Regretfully, we are not able to maintain individual or couple accounts.

Currency

Generally speaking, US Dollars are accepted everywhere, and your house account will be calculated in Pesos and converted in accord with the prescribed daily bank rate. ATM’s are readily available at all banks and accept all ATM systems for Visa, MasterCard, and Amex. Remember, ATM’s in Mexico are in Pesos…not US Dollars. Regretfully, Suenos does not accept credit cards at this time.

A recent bank ruling NO LONGER ALLOWS Suenos to accept TRAVELER’S CHECKS.

Food & Beverages

You are free to plan your meals directly from our menus, request something different, or simply leave it up to us. Always your choice. Of course if you eat/drink less you will pay less……or conversely, you will pay more.

Gratuity/Tipping

Tipping is not only appreciated, but very much expected. Please remember that our staff will be providing services for you Saturday to Saturday, morning to night. They will most certainly earn this token of your appreciation. To ensure they are well rested for the next day’s service, we ask that all evening service is concluded by 10:00 PM and that all staff have a mid week’s rest on Wednesday evening... reverently referred to as "Date Night".

Transportation

Mexican law prohibits us from providing transportation to our guests. However, we have contracted with a licensed private limo service that will take care of all your transportation needs during your stay including the airport, golf, sightseeing, etc. The rates to our guests are very comparable and reasonable.....and are payable either at the time of service or at the end of your stay. Of course tipping the driver is much appreciated.

The Water

Yes you can drink the water as all water on the Santiago Peninsula is purified. Skeptical? No Problem. Bottled water is in every room, the palapa bar, and used for all food ingredients in the kitchen.

Medical Needs

Manzanillo has a private hospital that is exceptionally clean, efficient, professional, and incredibly inexpensive. Local physicians also offer in-house visits for less emergent medical requests that may arise.

Your Wardrobe

Manzanillo has a very casual atmosphere, so you can leave the ties and jackets at home.....and ladies, don't bother with sparkling Bling. Anything goes so we suggest that you pack lite. Be sure to take a carry-on with your swim wear and toiletries just in case you arrive before your luggage. (seldom happens)

Communications

Long distance telephone service from Mexico is very expensive even for AT&T 800 calls. We strongly suggest that you have your families and business associates check in with you by calling Suenos directly (011-52-314-333-1750). American cellular customers can use their mobile phone while at Suenos at the corresponding rate set by your cellular plan, usually for fas less than landline rates.

Of course, Wi-Fi is available! FaceTime, Zoom, WebEx, GotoMeeting, MS Teams, Skype, Slack, and just about every other communication service will work normally. We recommend “checking-in on things” while sipping a fresh White-Ice Margarita at the palapa bar.

iPhone users wishing to completely disconnect should disable 'Data Roaming' in their settings to avoid allowing the iPhone to connect to the local cellular data provider (and their charges!).

Children

Of course children are welcome! We even have a pool of experienced nannies from which you may choose. The teens have an entire world of water sports at their fingertips plus some “very cool” non-alcoholic discos. Be careful with toddlers as many areas of Suenos are unrestrained. Also please remember that you are financially responsible for any and all damages incurred by your children or guests, payable before your departure.

Electrical Plugs

The current and plugs are USA-type operating on 110v. Each suite has its own Hair Dryer for your convenience. Please remember to pack your small personal electronics upon departure, as many guests leave them behind.

Laundry

The Suenos staff will be happy to launder your clothes from Monday to Thursday at a nominal charge. Dry cleaning is available by a local out service and will be charged to your account along with any laundry charges you may have incurred during your visit. Regretfully, no laundry can be done on the Friday before your departure and we do not have the capacity to launder all your clothing either after arrival or before departure.

Music & TV

Suenos has a wonderful 12 speaker stereo system throughout the open areas of the house along with an 80 CD collection. We are also wired for iPods! Please feel free to bring your own CD’s or iPod if you'd like. We have a small assortment of game boards, and paperbacks.

By popular choice of our guests, Suenos does not have TV or DVD.

Our Home

One particular issue that we would like to bring to your attention is the need to respect our nice neighbors. Suenos is a very open and airy house. As such, sound travels easily to other homes.  Please be mindful that many of our friends live in La Punta on a full-time basis and deserve the right of quiet enjoyment. You will be reminded of this again upon your arrival.

We want you to have the time of your life at Suenos, but we also want our neighbors to have the peace they deserve as well. Thank you in advance for your special consideration!
